EDGEMERE COMMUNITY CIVIC ASSOCIATION'S WEEKLY NEWSLETTER
June 29, 2024
Greetings Neighbor!
Happy Saturday! It seems as though June arrived a couple of days ago when in reality we have 1 more day to go to end this festive month. July 4th is upon us and there a few things you can do on this day and for the entire month. Please keep in mind that if you use fireworks, always think of our Veterans with PTSD and the like, our furry friends, those who may have an audible sensitivity and mental health issues that may be triggered by the noise of fireworks. As always, please be safe!

ECCA will continue to fight for beach access! What we’re not afraid of is holding our elected officials accountable. It’s disappointing to know that some of our elected officials are more concerned with the health and safety of birds but not the health and safety of the residents of Edgemere. Below is a response to an article our Assemblyman wrote about stewardship at the bird sanctuary. What we also learned is L + M Developers will be building a pool on their campus, which will be in the vicinity of the Welcome Center. This is wonderful as this will provide an opportunity for people to learn how to swim and enjoy the pool. But one has to ask, what does this do for the Edgemere community? Will we be the neighborhood “across the tracks?” Does this mean that we will never gain back our access to the beach? Please sign and share our petition for beach access.
