In addition, ECCA is a part of Jamaica Bay Flood Fellowship which monitors floods and applies flood sensors in areas where there’s increased flooding, which in turn, assists in reporting and resolutions. Your reporting can assist in repairing our community!

A Stroke, also known as a brain attack, seems to be a continuous phenomenon in the United States. In earlier years, a stroke only happened to people of certain ages, mostly those over 60, but now it’s happening to a wide range of age groups. Know the signs of a Stroke as there are medications that can be given to reverse the effects of a stroke, if reported in a timely manner. See below:

B: Balance Sudden loss of balance or coordination

E: Eyes Sudden blurred, double, or loss of vision in one or both eyes

F: Face One side of the face droops or is numb

A: Arm One arm is weak, numb, or doesn't move at all

S: Speech Slurred or garbled speech, or the inability to talk

T: Time to call 911 If the person shows any of these symptoms, call 911 right away.
